Itinerary · 3 days
3 Days in Paphos
Short answer
Day 1: Kato Paphos' ancient sites and the harbour. Day 2: Latchi and a boat to the Blue Lagoon, plus the Baths of Aphrodite. Day 3: the Old Town, Kouklia and sunset at Petra tou Romiou.
Each day stays in one part of the region, so you are not zig-zagging across it. Day 2 and day 3 are easiest by car; boat trips with hotel transfers cover day 2 if you are not driving.
Day 1 · Paphos town
Ancient Paphos on foot
The UNESCO sites, the harbour and sunset — all in and around Kato Paphos, no car needed.
- Morning
Kato Paphos Archaeological Park
Be at the gate at opening. Go straight to the House of Dionysus while it is quiet, then the House of Theseus, the House of Aion and the Odeon. Allow 2–2.5 hours.
- Late morning
Tombs of the Kings
A 5-minute taxi or short bus ride north. Climb down into the larger peristyle tombs. About 1.5 hours — carry water.
- Lunch
Lunch in Kato Paphos
Head back towards the harbour and eat a block or two inland, where menus tend to be better value than on the waterfront.
- Afternoon
Rest, swim, then St Paul's Pillar
Sit out the hottest hours at the hotel or on the promenade beaches, then walk to Agia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa and St Paul's Pillar.
- Sunset
Harbour and Paphos Castle
Walk out along the harbour to the castle for the late light.
- Dinner
Meze in Kato Paphos
Order a full meze and let it come. Allow two hours.
Day 2 · Polis & Latchi
Polis, Latchi and the Blue Lagoon
Over the hills to the north coast for the clearest water in the region.
- Morning
Boat from Latchi to the Blue Lagoon
Leave Paphos by 8:30 for a morning departure — or book a trip with hotel transfers.
- Lunch
Fish lunch at Latchi harbour
Tavernas line the harbour.
- Afternoon
Baths of Aphrodite and the nature trail
See the grotto, then walk the first section of the Aphrodite trail for views over the bay.
- Sunset
Swim at Latchi or a coffee in Polis
Then drive back over the hills before dark.
Day 3 · Aphrodite's coast
Old Town, Geroskipou and Aphrodite's coast
Everyday Paphos in the morning, then east along the coast to the Sanctuary of Aphrodite and sunset at Petra tou Romiou.
- Morning
Paphos Old Town
Browse the municipal market, walk the streets around Kennedy Square and have coffee where residents do.
- Lunch
Lunch in Geroskipou
Drive 10 minutes east. See the five-domed Agia Paraskevi church and pick up loukoumi.
- Afternoon
Sanctuary of Aphrodite, Kouklia
An hour at the site and museum of ancient Palaepaphos. Check the closing time.
- Sunset
Petra tou Romiou
Ten minutes further east. Swim if it is calm and stay for sunset.
- Dinner
Dinner back in Paphos
Return to Paphos town for dinner — around 30 minutes' drive.
Tips for this itinerary
- Book the Blue Lagoon boat a day or two ahead in July and August.
- Swap days 2 and 3 if the forecast shows wind on day 2 — boat trips get cancelled in rough seas.
