Day trip from Paphos
Akamas Peninsula
Short answer
The Akamas is the protected, largely undeveloped peninsula north of Paphos and the biggest natural attraction in the region. The catch is access: much of it is on rough tracks. The western side (Lara, Avakas Gorge) is reached from Coral Bay; the northern side (Blue Lagoon, Baths of Aphrodite) from Latchi. You cannot sensibly do both properly in one day.

Who it's for
Anyone who wants to see a wilder Cyprus. With young children, choose the boat option from Latchi rather than a long day on dirt tracks.
Getting there
About 30–40 minutes to Coral Bay/Agios Georgios for the west side; about 45 minutes to Latchi for the north side.
Without a car: A jeep safari covers the west side without needing a 4x4; boat trips from Latchi (some with Paphos transfers) cover the Blue Lagoon.
